EVERY THREAD HAS A STORY TO TELL
WHAT IS A PHOTO MATCH?
A photo match is the best form of authentication for game used memorabilia because it’s based on photographic fact. Think of this as fingerprinting your memorabilia. Just like a fingerprint, each game used item will have unique identifying characteristics. These may include variable items like stains, thread pulls, or imperfections caused by wear and tear. Other non-variable characteristics may also be used to identify items. Examples include the positioning of letters stitched on a jersey relative to a fixed point such as piping or pinstripes, wood grain patterns on a bat, and even the pattern of the mesh of a jersey.
